Author: My name is Alberto, I am 21 years old and I am from Oviedo a city from the north of Spain of a community called Asturias, in my opinion, the best part of Spain. With 18 years I move living to Santander, another beautiful city in the north of Spain too.

This is Oviedo, my natural city, and this is Santander, the city where I was living the last 3 years.

When I started university, at Universidad de Cantabria I was full of expectations and nerves. Leaving my home and family was not easy, but I also felt excited about what was to come. The first few months were a whirlwind of emotions: the thrill of meeting new people, the pressure of adapting to a completely different study pace from what I was used to, and the nostalgia of not having my family close by. I remember that during those first weeks, even the simplest tasks, like cooking or doing my laundry, felt like a major challenge.

Over time, I learned to manage these responsibilities and began to feel more confident. However, not everything was smooth sailing. The first year wasn’t my best academically, as all the changes—being away from my parents for the first time and constantly meeting new people—took up a lot of study time. Additionally, my degree wasn’t what I initially expected, but it was full of discoveries. I made friends who became my second family, and through all the mistakes we made—since we had no one to guide us through the processes our parents usually helped with—I learned that being independent was much more than taking care of myself. It was about learning to make decisions on my own and facing the consequences with maturity.

Throughout the years, I have noticed how much I have changed. Academically, I have gone from being someone who studied just to pass to someone who truly seeks to learn, motivated by a passion for my field. Now, I have study routines that work for me, and I feel more confident in my ability to overcome academic challenges. Personally, living away from home has taught me the value of organization, discipline, and, above all, resilience.

Now, in my fourth year, I feel more prepared and confident. Of course, here in Lublin, I’m back in somewhat of a bubble—making new friends, traveling frequently, and having many new experiences—which seems to push academics to the background. But knowing that this experience happens only once, I don’t let it worry me too much. I have also come to greatly value the relationships I’ve built here. My friends have become a fundamental pillar in my life, and together we’ve faced the highs and lows of this stage.

Reflecting on these four years, I feel proud of how far I’ve come. Living away from home has not only given me an academic education but also a life education. I have learned to know myself better, push past my limits, and value the small things I once took for granted, like a family meal or advice from my parents.

In the future, I know that the lessons and experiences from this stage will accompany me in everything I do. To those who are about to begin this experience, I can only say: seize every moment, even the difficult ones, because they are the ones that teach us the most. These years have been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for every step along the way.

The campus

First of all, one of my favorite features of Yeditepe is the campus! Yeditepe University is located in Istanbul, Atasehir, and unlike many universities in Istanbul -especially private ones, it has a beautiful campus that is one with nature. The campus is about 12.5 hectares in total with the faculties, dormitories, social areas, and plenty of green areas. Students love spending time on campus, especially during the spring.

The location

The location of the campus is at a relatively central place, it is not far away from the well-known central places of Istanbul, yet it still takes some time to commute to those places. However, the campus and the area around it have their activity opportunities, which means if you are a student who lives in the dormitory or around the campus, you don’t have to go far to fulfill your social and other needs. Also, due to its high-altitude location, and the forest around the campus, usually it is colder compared to the central places of Istanbul (which are usually near the sea). So bringing some thick clothes for winter would be a good thing to do!

Academics

Now that we talked about the location, it is time for the most important part: Academics! There are 13 faculty in Yeditepe University with 69 undergraduate programs, 94 master’s degrees, and 45 doctorate programs. Every one of them has very successful lecturers, and laboratories. The library has many physical and online materials that are accessible to every student and faculty member. The university also offers external courses on many different topics and areas. They also offer many different department-free elective courses for their students, such as Coding 101 or Photography. The preparatory school is mandatory and they teach B2 level English, French, German, or Russian (This depends on the student’s language of major). In the B2 English class, students are separated according to their faculties (social sciences or engineering and medicine) so that they can have a vocabulary based on their major and their classes. This makes a big difference for students because, for many undergraduate programs, 100% of the classes are in English.

Yeditepe University also offers many scholarship opportunities. Depending on the student’s success in the national university entrance exam, they offer 50% or 100% scholarships for tuition, dormitories, and food scholarships. They also offer scholarships for the students who play in the university’s sports teams. The students also get a discount at the Yeditepe Hospital, which is a private hospital as well.

eThe university has around 50 student clubs with different interests and goals. There are clubs for academics and career-based, and also more art and hobby-related ones. Each of them organizes different events, sometimes cooperating with the university. They also organize social responsibility projects along with the university.

Yeditepe University’s international office coordinates many international programs, including Erasmus+. The university has agreements with many different universities in many different countries. They provide orientations for both incoming and outgoing students.

Overall, as a senior student at Yeditepe University, who also lives on the campus and works in a student club (Yeditepe Management Club), I enjoy my university life a lot and I know all of my friends also enjoy it. The university has so many opportunities for academics and career paths, and also many opportunities for fun and socializing. University isn’t about academics and we all should enjoy it fully!

History of the University of Cantabria

The institution was officially established on August 18, 1972, by a decree of the Council of Ministers under the name University of Santander. Thirteen years later, it was renamed the University of Cantabria.

The University of Cantabria received the official designation as a Campus of International Excellence from the Government of Spain in December 2014. Within the University of Cantabria, I go to the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, which is located on the Santander campus and shares a building with the Faculty of Law.

The building has two floors of parking and four floors with classrooms where the courses are held. The left half of the building belongs to the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, while the right half is dedicated to the Faculty of Law.

The faculty also has its own library, where you can go to study peacefully and where various books and materials are available for rent to assist with your studies.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the University of Cantabria is a great space for developing your university studies, with facilities and infrastructure that support and promote learning. It has competent professors who are always willing to teach and help, and classmates who are really friendly, making the university experience very enjoyable.

My name is René Molina, and I’m currently in my last year of my Business Administration degree in the University of Zaragoza, specifically at the faculty of economics located in the city center.

The most important landmark of Zaragoza is without a doubt ”La Catedral basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar”. Built in 1680, it’s an enormous cathedral dedicated to the Virgin Pilar, the patroness of the city.

As mentioned before, I study at the faculty of economics, which is located in the city center. It’s very practical to get to and there are various ways to get to it, the main ones being walking, tram, or bus. You can also drive there, but it is slightly inconvenient because unfortunately my faculty doesn’t have parking and there’s rarely any free spaces near my faculty. On the left side of the image below is the library of the faculty, and on the right side is the building with all the classrooms.

My degree is very broad as it encompasses many subjects. These subjects consist of marketing, law, accounting, and finance. Personally, I think this is ideal for me because I was never sure what professional career I wanted to pursue, but now after years of studying different subjects I can safely say my biggest interest is finance. I think my analytical way of thinking aligns with those problems related to finance, and I think that’s why I enjoy it more than law, marketing, etc.

My friends and hobbies are a big part of my life. I’m very fortunate to have a group of friends that I’ve known my whole life, I consider to be my family, and I know that I can always count on them. My main hobbies right now are working out and travelling. Working out is a great way for me to blow off some steam and stay fit at the same time while travelling is something that I don’t do very often because it’s expensive, but I still enjoy doing it even if it’s occasionally.

7. Salt Mine of Turda

8. Bicaz Gorge

This is the Faculty of Economics, it is located in the center of Zaragoza, it is a little far from the rest of the faculties.
It’s a little old but it has a lot of classes where a lot of people can fit.
The building has four floors and the top floors are where the teachers’ offices are.
In front of the faculty is the library that has two floors.

My name is Nadia Layunta and I studied business administration and management at the University of Zaragoza.

In my degree program, we study subjects related to law, finance, accounting, and marketing. My favorite subjects are those related to marketing, and that’s what I want to pursue in the future.

In Spain, classes are a bit different than in Poland because they have more people and include both theoretical and practical lessons. However, I personally prefer the classes here in Poland because they are smaller, more practical, and more dynamic.

One of the best things my degree has given me, apart from the knowledge I’ve gained, has been the people I’ve met and the opportunity to go on an Erasmus exchange to Lublin.

On the other hand, I’m going to talk a bit about my city: Zaragoza, as it has a wide variety of interesting places to visit:

Basilica del Pilar

Some of the must-see monuments include the Basilica del Pilar, where you can find the Virgin of Pilar and artworks by Goya. Another monument is the Aljafería Palace, which combines Arab, medieval, and Renaissance architecture.

My Erasmus experience

My experience in Lublin began on September 20th, traveling from Zaragoza with my partner Rene, we traveled all day until we arrived. We arrived at our residence and met our roommates, then we went to eat in a typical place where we met with more people

The first weeks here were so fun, we got to know the center of Lublin, some places to have a drink and we went to a lot of parties. Here I have met incredible people who are now like my family.

I have traveled to a lot of countries I had never been to, such as Germany and Hungary, and I have been able to get to know other cultures.

Regarding the university, I was impressed by how big it is.
The classes are much smaller than in Spain and the subjects are more practical.
I like the subjects more than in Spain because they are more fun for me.
