UAIC is the oldest higher education institution in Romania, established in 1860. UAIC is renowned for its tradition of excellence in teaching and research. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs across diverse fields. Nowadays, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University is made up of 15 faculties and one department. The institution hosts around 22.000 students.
Iași – the cultural capital of Romania
Iași, known as the “Cultural Capital of Romania,” is a historic city in the northeast of the country. It boasts a rich cultural heritage, being home to iconic landmarks like the Palace of Culture, the Three Hierarchs Monastery, and the Botanical Garden, the largest in Romania. With its vibrant student life, Iași houses numerous universities, including the prestigious Alexandru Ioan Cuza University. Overview of my department and campus
As a student at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA), I study in one of the most dynamic and modern departments on campus. The university campus is a mix of historical architecture and state-of-the-art facilities, offering students a rich environment for learning and personal growth. The central building, with its neoclassical design, is a symbol of academic tradition and excellence.
How to get & what to explore in Iași
Getting to Iași is easy, as the city is well-connected by train, bus, and its own international airport. The university campus is centrally located, making it accessible and close to major landmarks. Some must-visit places in Iași include the Palace of Culture, a stunning neo-Gothic landmark housing four museums; the Copou Park, home to Mihai Eminescu’s Linden Tree; and the Three Hierarchs Monastery, a unique architectural gem.

My interest in Economics and favorite study moments
Economics has always fascinated me as a field that combines logic, strategy, and creativity to understand how the world works. My favorite courses include Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship, where I’ve learned practical skills that I can apply in real-life scenarios.
The professors at FEAA inspire and challenge us to think critically and innovate. One memorable moment from my studies was working on a team project to create a video promotion for a product. Studying at UAIC has not only equipped me with knowledge but has also helped me grow as a person, teaching me resilience, time management, and the importance of collaboration.

Iași, often referred to as the “City of a Hundred Churches,” is a spiritual and architectural treasure trove. Its churches not only reflect deep-rooted faith but also showcase the rich cultural and historical tapestry of the region.

My friends and favorite activities
Life as a student in Iași is not just about classes; it’s also about the friendships and experiences that make university life special. My friends and I enjoy exploring the city together, whether it’s discovering a cozy café in the city center, attending local cultural events, or simply relaxing in the Botanical Garden.
To stay active and happy, I love to volunteer in a Christian Student Organization, called Leaders of Tomorrow. There I have the opportunnity to organize games, presentations, English clbs and mountain retreat. Balancing academic responsibilities with social activities has taught me how to lead a fulfilling and well-rounded student life.
